Thou ROEUN – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On April 12, 2015, at approximately 01:02 a.m., a black Toyota car entered a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint being conducted by the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at Medway Road and Clarke Road.

It was determined the male driver of the motor vehicle had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail”. The driver was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath tests.

As a result of the investigation, Thou ROEUN, age 31, from London, Ontario, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood. He was also charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) with possession of a schedule II substance – cannabis marihuana – over 30 grams, and driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available, under the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer the charges in the London courts on May 29, 2015.
