Thomas McCUMBER – Drunk Stunt Driving With Drugs

(PRINCE EDWARD COUNTY, ON) – On November 07, 2015 at 10:57pm officers with the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment were patrolling Highway 62 when a southbound motor vehicle was observed travelling in excess of 50km/h above the posted 80km/h speed limit.

The OPP stopped the motor vehicle on Highway 62 and Union Road in the Ward of Ameliasburgh. The male driver appeared to have been consuming alcohol and was found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

The male driver, 26-year old Thomas McCUMBER of Picton, ON is charged with the following offences:

-Operating While Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

-Operation With Over 80mgs of Alcohol, contrary to Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

-Possession of a Controlled Substance Included in Schedule II, contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

-Race Motor Vehicle-Perform Stunt, contrary to Section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on December 02, 2015.
