This Week In Russell County

(EMBRUN, ON) – The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several incidents after responding to 156 calls for service from Sunday, January 23th to Thursday, January 28th. Among those occurrences were the following; domestic disputes, sexual assault, bail violation, frauds, and thefts.

As result of those occurrences, 4 males were charged with various offences.

Domestic Disputes

Russell County OPP officers investigated 3 domestic disputes during the past week. A male was charged with domestic mischief and assault.

Road rage incident

Police has located and arrested a male in relation to a road rage incident that took place on the 9th of January in the city of Rockland. Russell County OPP was contacted following an incident that started on County Road 17. The vehicle occupied by the victim was travelling westbound and passed the suspect’s vehicle. When the 2 lanes merged into 1, the suspect vehicle quickly passed the victim’s vehicle. When they came to the red lights of County Road 17 and Laporte, the male suspect got outside and was making gestures to the victim. Afterward, the suspect vehicle cut off several vehicles and entered Rockland following the victim. The male suspect followed the victim to work and started yelling at him in the parking lot. Martin Faubert, age 32 of Wendover has been charged with assault and Mischief to the victim’s vehicle. He was release on a promise to appear for court in l’Orignal on March 23th.

Incident of January 21st (correction)

In the morning of January 21, 2016, the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an incident of threats to cause bodily harm with a weapon at a Rockland High School. During the investigation, the school commenced their lock down procedures.

As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old male was arrested and is charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm and Mischief. He was also charged for two count of fail to comply and held for court the next day. Male is still in custody and he is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, L’Orignal on February 2nd, 2016.
