(EMBRUN, ON) –In the week of June 22, 2015 to June 29, 2015, the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 275 occurrences. Among those occurrences OPP responded to 19 collisions, 10 thefts, 11 domestics and 3 impaired drivers.
As a result of those occurrences, 26 people were charged with various offences.
Impaired Driver
(Nation Township) – On June 23, 2015 OPP Constables, Charlebois and Corbeil responded to a single motor vehicle collision on County Road 8, between Route 200 and Route 300. The officers attended location and found a vehicle in the ditch. OPP Constable Charlebois spoke to the driver and noticed signs of impairment by alcohol. The male was arrested and taken to the OPP Detachment where he provided breath samples into the Intoxilyzer. The test results exceeded the legal limit.
Maxime JEROME, 31 years old from Clarence-Rockland will have to appear in L’Orignal court on July 8, 2015 to answer to the following charges:
CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle
CC 253(1)(b) Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood
CDSA 4(1) Poss. of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams
Impaired Driver
(Embrun, Ontario) – On June 27, 2015, OPP Constables, Dionne and Leblanc responded to a call for an impaired driver and they located the vehicle on Notre Dame Road. After the Constables conducted a traffic stop, they observed the driver showing signs of impairment by alcohol. The male was arrested and taken to the OPP Detachment where he provided breath samples into the Intoxylizer. The test results exceeded the legal limit.
Brett MEREDITH, 28 years old from Gatineau will have to appear in L’Orignal Court on July 15, 2015 to answer to the following charges:
CC 253(1)(a) Driving While Ability Impaired – motor vehicle
CC 253 (2)(b) Driving with More Than 80 mgs. Of Alcohol in Blood
Break and Enter
(Nation Township) – On June 22, 2015 OPP Constables, Iordache and Benoit responded to a break and enter at Bytown Lumber on Calypso Road. At that location sometime during the night a suspect forced his way into the premise and stole money located inside the store.
