(EMBRUN, ON) –In the week of June 29, 2015 to July 6, 2015, the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 303 occurrences. Among those occurrences OPP responded to 21 collisions, 9 thefts, 12 domestics and 2 impaired drivers.
As a result of those occurrences, 40 people were charged with various offences.
Domestic Disputes
Police Officers responded to 12 domestic dispute calls during the week of June 29, 2015 to July 6, 2015. One male was charged with two counts of criminal harassment, another male was charged with failing to comply with conditions of undertaking, a female was charged with domestic mischief and spousal assault, and another female was charged with assault with a weapon.
Impaired Drivers
On Tuesday June 30th, 2015, at approximately 10:26pm, OPP officers responded to a single vehicle collision on Route 600 west in The Nation Municipality. The male driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving, and taken to the detachment for further testing. At the conclusion of the investigation, Yvan LARIN 63 of The Nation Municipality, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in L’Orignal on July 22. Provincial Constable Anne-Christine Gauthier investigated.
On Saturday July 4, 2015, at approximately 7:25pm, OPP officers responded to a report of an erratic driver on Highway 17 in the City of Clarence-Rockland. Officers located the vehicle in the Canadian Tire parking lot. The male driver had been drinking and failed a roadside alcohol screening test. He was arrested and taken to the detachment for further tests. Robert LAWRIE 66 Point Claire, Quebec, was charged with impaired driving and driving over 80mgs. He was released on a promise to appear in court in L’Orignal, Ontario on July 22. Provincial Constable Andre CHARLEBOIS investigated.
Mischief
On Friday July 10, 2015, at approximately 8:00am, OPP officers responded to the Rockland Library for a smashed window. The damage would’ve taken place during closing time between Thursday July 9, at 8:00pm and Friday July 10, at 8:00am.
