This Week In Russell County

(RUSSELL COUNTY, ON) – The Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating several incidents after responding to 201 calls for service from Sunday October 18th to Saturday October 24th.  Among these occurrences, OPP responded to six domestic disputes, one utter threat and three drug offences. As a result of those occurrences, three males were charged with various offences. 

Domestic Disputes

OPP officers investigated six domestic disputes from Sunday to Saturday. One male was charged with one count of criminal harassment. No other criminal offences occurred.

Vehicle fire

On October 19th, OPP and the Russell Fire department responded to a pick-up truck on fire near the intersection of North Russell road and Route 100 in Russell Township. Ottawa Police Service advised the owner, a citizen of their city and they are investigation possible theft of the vehicle.

Utter Threat

On October 24, Maxime Plouffe-Villeneuve, age 20 of Limoges was arrested and charged with Utter threat to cause death. He was released on a promise to appear in court in L’Orignal on November 18th.

Alcohol/Drug related incident

On October 23, officers located a group of approximately 14 youth in the back of Russell elementary school in Russell. All parties were warned in regard of alcohol and illegal substance consumption.
