THIEVES TARGET NORWICH

(NORWICH, ON.) -The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a residential break and enter, theft of motor vehicles and a recovered motor vehicle which occurred over the weekend in Norwich.

A residence on Main Street East was entered sometime over the weekend and approximately $7000 worth of items was removed. The suspects gained entry to the house through the rear door.

On January 19, 2014, OPP responded to a theft of motor vehicle on Stover Street, at the Norwich District Community Centre parking lot that had recently occurred. The vehicle was stolen that day between 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The vehicle stolen was a grey, 2004 Chevrolet Silverado, 4×4 Special Edition. The vehicle is described as having “Z71” placards on the left and right side of the bed, wind deflectors on the windows, and a fifth wheel attachment in the bed.

While investigating the above stolen vehicle, police observed a grey, 2002 Chevrolet Suburban with the driver’s door insecure. This vehicle was parked directly beside the location where the initial Silverado had been. Further investigation revealed that the Suburban had been stolen from Main Street in Norwich.

Investigations are continuing into these incidents.
