At approximately 5:30 a.m. this morning the Owen Sound Police Service received a call from a residence in the upper south east side of the city regarding three youths entering vehicles in the area. Police responded and apprehended a 17th year old male and a 14 year old female after a foot pursuit in the area.
The 17 year old male was charged with possession of stolen property as well as three counts of breach of probation and is being held in custody awaiting a Monday bail hearing. The 14 year old female was charged with possession of stolen property and released from custody with a future court appearance.
Police are encouraging citizens in the area of these thefts to take inventory of their vehicles and contact the Owen Sound Police Service if they have been victimized as there is a large quantity of seized property with the victim’s being unidentified at this time. Police are continuing to investigate this incident.
Citizens are again being reminded to secure their vehicles to help alleviate this ongong problem.
