Barrie Police were called to a south end store to assist lost prevention officers with an arrest. Two females had fled the store carrying merchandise across the parking lot into busy traffic. Witnesses and security officers observed the females eventually enter a vehicle parked in a commercial lot with a driver awaiting their arrival.
A short time after leaving, the suspect vehicle was stopped by police. Two females were taken into custody and the stolen property had been seized. One of the females was currently wanted on several warrants from Newfoundland and on over ten additional charges in the Ontario area. A 36 and 35 yr old female were transported to the station and held for a bail hearing.
