THEFT OF GINSENG

(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft of ginseng from a rural property that occurred on September 1, 2014.

Sometime overnight on September 1, 2014, suspect(s) entered a ginseng field on Airport Road in Norwich Township, and dug and removed approximately $3,000 to $5,000 worth of ginseng from the field.

The OPP is asking residents to be vigilant for suspicious vehicles or persons that may be in your neighbourhoods. The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers, direction of travel and report the information immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area

The investigation is continuing and any person with information in relation to this theft should immediately contact OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
