THEFT OF FLOOD WARNING EQUIPMENT

(CALEDON, ON)- On Monday, August 12, 2013, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended The Grange Side Road between Highway 10 and McLaughlin to investigate the theft of flood warning equipment installed by the Credit Valley Conservation Area. Unknown suspect(s) attended the location and stole a solar panel with electrical box attached to a 15 foot tower. The value of the theft is estimated at over $2,600.00.

Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1-888-310-1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.

Police are asking anyone with information about this theft to contact Provincial Constable Rideout, Caledon OPP at 905-584-2241 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Being anonymous, you will not testify in court and your information may lead to a cash reward of up to $2,000.00.
