Theft Of Diesel Fuel

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Middleton North Walsingham, Townline Road, Middleton, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the early morning hours unknowns attended the address in a pick-up truck and proceeded to drive through a tobacco field causing damage to several plants. Unknowns then damage irrigation piping after driving over the pipe causing it to bend.

The unknown suspects then attended an area on the property and located fuel storage tanks containing diesel fuel. An unknown quantity of fuel was removed from the tanks at which time the suspects and vehicle fled in an unknown direction.

Businesses and farms with large fuel storage should make sure pumps and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and unsupervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.
