Theft From Vehicles In Goderich

(GODERICH, ON) – Officers from the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment have recently investigated several thefts from vehicles within the Town of Goderich. The five thefts all took place overnight between September 21 and September 22, 2013. The vehicles were parked on the following streets: Trafalgar, Anglesea, St. Vincent and East. The stolen property included: loose change, gift cards, a wallet, hand tools, Tom Tom GPS system, two power inverters, gym clothes, athletic shoes and a computer bag.

What was the common denominator with all of these thefts? The vehicles were all left unlocked. These crimes of opportunity may have been prevented had the owners simply locked the vehicle doors. A vehicle with an unlocked door or open window is an easy target. Huron OPP would like to remind vehicle owners to lock the doors, pocket the key and to remove valuables from the vehicle. Please do your part to prevent a crime.

Any person with information regarding these incidents should immediately contact the Huron OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or (519) 524-8314.

Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
