Theft From Purse

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is reminding the public to protect their property and valuables against would be thieves after a theft was reported at a West Street, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Monday, April 13, 2015 between 6:00 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., an unknown female located a purse sitting on a table in the food court of the Simcoe Town Centre while the owner was using the washroom facilities. The unknown female entered the purse and removed a quantity of Canadian currency before the owner returned.

The suspect is described as a white female, 25 to 35 years of age, 5”0, with short dark hair with a slim build. Police are reviewing video surveillance footage in an attempt to identify the suspect.

The Norfolk County OPP Detachment is continuing to investigate and is seeking assistance from the public. If anyone has any information regarding this incident, they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
