Barrie Police arrested a 27 year old local man for theft of a bacpack that dates back to April 2013. The victim was in a restaurant on Grove Street and left his personal property unattended. The suspect was captured on video surveillance inside the premise and can be seen removing the property and exiting the location. Police were able to identify the suspect after viewing the surveillance footage.
Investigating officer made several attempts to contact the accused and on today’s date did arrest him for the outstanding theft. He was released with a future court date in October 2013. To date, the property has not been returned to its rightful owner. No one was injured in this incident.
