(TOWNSHIP OF ESSA) – At approximately 9:30am, Saturday, November 19, 2016, officers of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), were informed of a possible impaired driver northbound on Mill Street in Angus. This was reported just as officers were setting up for the Santa Claus parade and Mill street was lined with children and pedestrians.
The vehicle was observed pulling into the McDonalds at the north end of Angus and was apprehended there by one of our officers. Investigation revealed the driver to be impaired by alcohol.
Terry CLARKE, age 66, of Springwater Township has been charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle While Impaired, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear.
