Teen Charged With Armed Robberies

(KITCHENER, ON) – On December 23, 2015, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) arrested and charged an 18-year-old Kitchener man in connection with three robberies.

The joint force investigation focused on all three robberies. The first occurred February 9, 2015 at the CIBC in St. Clements. The second robbery occurred on March 2, 2015 at the Royal Bank in Drayton Ontario. The third robbery occurred at the Scotia Bank in Tavistock on April 9, 2015.

The 9 month joint force investigation culminated in the arrest of the accused who was a young offender at the time of the incidents. He has been charged with;

3 counts of Robbery

3 counts – Use Firearm in the Commission of an Offence

3 counts – Disguise with Intent

2 counts – Assault

Assault with a Weapon

The accused was held for a show cause hearing today, December 24. Due to the accused being a young offender at the time of the incidents, he cannot be identified.
