(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) – Detectives from the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigations Unit have arrested and charged a 53-year-old teacher from the Arthur Voaden Secondary School in St. Thomas with several sexual related offences. This comes after receiving a complaint from student under the age of 18 regarding an incident which occurred off school property over the Christmas Holidays.
The complaint stems from an incident which occurred at a residence just south east of St. Thomas in Central Elgin on December 29th, 2015. Allegations of inappropriate touching of a sexual nature have been brought forward.
On January 6th, 2016 police arrested and charged Roger REID, age 53, of Central Elgin, ON with;
Sexual Exploitation under the Criminal Code.
Sexual Assault under the Criminal Code.
REID is to appear in St. Thomas Criminal Court on January 26th, 2016.
