Taxpayers Only Allowed 1 Hour To Question Council in 2016 – Blyth ESTC 13Sept2016 7-8pm

Council has agreed to have one meeting this year where the Public and Press can ask questions on the record, 13Sept2016. In an effort to make sure as few members of the Public show up they are having a one hour meeting in Blyth at the ESTC. That’s right, we are the highest taxed municipality in Ontario and we are only allowed one hour a year to question council.

Council knows if they had the meeting in Wingham 300-400 would show up, and they just couldn’t handle it. Blyth is taxed much lower than Wingham, making it the prefered location. The “all candidates” meeting in Blyth was very poorly attended compared to the Wingham one, and they are counting on a low turnout in Blyth for the hour of reckoning.

There are approximately 6,000 people in North Huron, and 3,600 seconds in an hour. Try to keep your questions to 1 second or less so everyone can have a turn.

From the Agenda Package: 12.1

THAT the Council of the Township of North Huron hereby authorizes a Town Hall Public Meeting to be held on September 13, 2016 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Emergency Services Training Centre, Blyth
