On Thursday February 20, 2014 at approximately 2:35 a.m., the London Police Service was called to the area of Egerton Street and Trafalgar Street. It was reported that while en route to this location, a fare had assaulted the taxi driver and demanded cash from him. The fare had in his possession an offensive weapon which had been presented during the assault.
The victim did not sustain any injuries. The suspect was located and arrested a short time later in a nearby residence.
As a result of the investigation, 35-year-old Phillipe Cadieux of London has been charged with armed robbery, contrary to section 343(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
