Taxi Driver Assaulted – Hero Citizens Detain Suspect And Render Assistance

(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were called to attend Highway #403 near Jerseyville Road in the County of Brant in response to a taxi cab driver being assaulted by his passenger.

County of Brant OPP members attended the area at approximately 12:45 a.m. on

17 August 2016. Investigators found that while on route from Hamilton to Brantford a passenger in a Blue line taxi assaulted the driver then attempted to leave the area on foot when the suspect was detained by two citizens who stopped to render assistance. The suspect remained at the scene without incident until police arrived.

Police arrested and have charged 20-year-old Colden SCOTT-ROBERTSON of Brantford with assault contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charge.
