There is no worker shortage, just a shortage of businesses willing to pay a fair living wage instead of the absolute lowest amount required by law.
There is no worker shortage in Wingham, and if there is, it is not North Huron councils (taxpayers) problem. North Huron councils role is to maintain our infrastructure, not subsidizing housing or employees for businesses loyal to the current regime. The worker shortage excuse will be used over and over again until all Public land is the hands of loyalist developers and exploiters.
The fake worker shortage is being used to bring in workers from other countries to work at the new McDonalds in Wingham opening in June, and for building Bailey Towers on top of the Wingham Trailer Park for those workers.
Now you might be saying, but there is a worker shortage, king bailey said so! And help wanted signs are sun-faded in Josephine St. windows.
There is no worker shortage, just a shortage of businesses willing to pay a fair living wage instead of the absolute lowest amount required by law. If you doubt that assessment, imagine if these businesses experiencing a worker shortage offered $20/hr instead of the lowest minimum wage required by law.
