Many in Wingham are in a perpetual state of denial, and choose to ignore reality even when it is thrown in their faces. By virtually any standard, Wingham is the worst place in Ontario to live, raise a family or start a business, below are a few reasons why.
We suffer from a 28.6% youth crime rate, which is due to a desperate lack of parent involvement in this town. Parents allow underage drinking by their own children, and of their underage friends. It is creepy as hell when a parent lures their children’s friends over to his garage with alcohol. If someone lures my 16 year old daughter to their basement and offers her booze again, I will likely snap, and rip the balls off the fking pervert that thinks its OK to get teen girls drunk in his basement. Many of you reading this will think underage drinking is very rare in Wingham, well you are wrong. Just look at your child’s friends facebook photos, virtually everyone will have a pic of them getting piss drunk in someone’s garage. So, what’s the worst that could happen with underage drinking? Oh, remember the gang rape, where no names were released because they were underage?
Council has been desensitized to complaints about our property taxes. For decades they have been hiring more and more staff, and spending more and more. Council learned a long time ago to start rumours of a double digit tax hike, then when a 3% increase happens, everyone is just happy that it wasn’t 14%, and the drooling masses go back to playing farmville.
When people find out that a $389,000 home in Wingham would be charged almost $9,000 a year in property taxes, they look for somewhere more affordable to buy a home. Our high taxes are largely responsible for the lack of investment in our community, both residential and commercial. Despite the obvious detrimental impact of these taxes on our community, tax payers still sit idle while they should be demanding spending reforms from town hall. We are paying about twice what we should be for property taxes, this is 100% town hall’s fault, as they control chequebook.
Desperate landlords allow welfare scum to move to our town, bringing their crime and flooding our streets with hard drugs. Since we have the highest tax rate in Canada, landlords quickly succumb to financial pressures and are forced to lower their standards to fill vacancies or face losing their life savings and going into bankruptcy.
We all know we suffer from a severe lack of community spirit. If parents don’t care about their own children, they sure won’t give a rat’s ass about their community. 35% of girls between grades 7 – 12 have been sexually and/or physically abused. One in three girls has been, or is still being abused! No wonder, when we have the swinger’s culture in town, and parents like to buy booze for their kid’s parties. Is it any wonder we have a high teen pregnancy rate, when over 1/2 the town are swingers? When a teenage girl sees her dad is pimping out her Mommy in exchange for some redneck sex, no wonder she too has no self esteem and is promiscuous.
If you don’t play hockey, you are a virtual outcast. There is no pride in getting high grades, and those that do are teased by their classmates, many of which have been concussed playing hockey. Parents spend more time taking their kids to hockey games, than helping with their studies. The sad fact is, most adults in town never finished high school themselves, and really don’t give a crap if their kids do either. Parents have given up raising their kids, and let them play video games 24/7. It is much like putting a toddler in front of tv playing Sesame street.
If you don’t believe in Skyman, you are virtually shunned in town. We suffer from a plethora of religious cliques, all of which believe they are morally superior to everyone else. Rational adults don’t believe in Santa, Easter Bunny, God or goblins. Churches weren’t built to educate the masses, but to exploit them. Many church goers in town have admitted they don’t really “believe†and a few have admitted they go for business reasons. Those that believe in anything without proof, are easy pickings for dirtbag salespeople, many of which “church hopâ€. There are delusional people in town, that think praying is as helpful as actually doing something. “I will pray for youâ€, is how a rednecks says “Fk You, I ain’t’ helping!â€
There, I think I am done ranting for now. I imagine I will get 99% thumbs down for this, since I probably ticked off town hall, perverts, those that exploit the religious, those in denial about being exploited, underage drinkers, swingers & hockey players…..that is about 99% of town 🙁
