Suspended Drunk Driver Hits Ambulance

(Drummond North Elmsley, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of a car that collided with an Ambulance on Highway 43 in Port Elmsley, Drummond, North Elmsley Township.

OPP were called to Hwy 43 and Station Road at 03:31 am on Saturday 11th February 2017. Investigation revealed that a Buick car had struck an Ambulance operated by the Lanark County Ambulance Service. Both vehicles had major damage but no one was injured.

Nicholas CASSELL (28 years) of South Elmsley is charged:

One (1) Count.

Driving a Motor Vehicle with over 80 milligrams of Alcohol per 100 Millilitres of Blood.

Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

One (1) Count Drive Under Suspension.

One (1) Count Novice Driver with Blood Alcohol Concentration above Zero.

Both contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

He was released to appear at the Provincial Court in Perth.
