Suspended Drunk Driver Causes Collision – Joseph PALMER Charged Again

(Cavan-Monaghan Township, ON) – Emergency workers were called to a collision on Peterborough County Road 28 in front of the Kawartha Slots last night just before 11:00pm. A southbound pickup crossed the centre line and collided with a northbound vehicle.

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene to investigate. The occupants of the northbound vehicle were treated for minor injuries at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).

The driver of the southbound pickup truck was found to be impaired by alcohol. Further, officers discovered that this driver had a suspended licence from another impaired driving incident. On December 21, 2014 Peterborough Police Service charged this same driver with impaired operation and suspended his licence for 90 days.

Joseph PALMER, (age 54) of Cavan-Monaghan Township is charged with impaired driving, driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in his blood and driving with a suspended licence. The accused was held for a bail hearing on January 30, 2015.
