(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On June 5, 2015, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were travelling southbound on 69 Highway in Carling Township. At approximately 9:00 a.m., a northbound car was observed pulling into the southbound lane passing other northbound vehicles, causing the OPP cruiser to pull off the roadway to avoid a head on collision.
The vehicle stop revealed that the driver had his driving privileges suspended.
As a result, Michael MCBRINE, 34 years of age from Toronto, has been charged with:
1. Careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
2. Driving while under suspension contrary to the HTA (2 counts).
The driver has been served with a Provincial Offences Act summons requiring him to attend Provincial Court in Parry Sound to answer to the charges laid against him.
