Suspended Driver Facing Numerous Charges

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On February 26, 2016, at approximately 8:02 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an erratic driver operating a Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab pick-up truck southbound on Hwy. 10 near 80 Sideroad in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Police stopped the suspect vehicle on Sydenham Street in Flesherton and found that the driver had been smoking marihuana. A young child was observed sleeping in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, 25-year old Thomas THOMPSON of Scarborough, Ontario was charged with the following offences:

Possession of Cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams

Possession of Cocaine

Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)

He was also served Part III Provincial Offences Act Summonses for the following offences:

Driving while under suspension

Careless driving

Drive without proper headlights – motor vehicle

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on April 14, 2016.
