Around 6:30 p.m. yesterday, an officer was travelling southbound on Third Street in Chatham when he queried the licence plate and learned that the registered owner was a suspended driver due to unpaid fines. The officer initiated a traffic stop to further investigate.
The 42-year-old male driver from Chatham was indeed the registered owner and he was charged with driving while under suspension.
