Officers from the Owen Sound Police Service were conducting a R.I.D.E in the area of 1500 block of 10th Street East, Owen Sound on Thursday evening when a young driver was stopped around 9:00 p.m. The young man initially gave an incorrect name but after being cautioned with regard to obstructing police he supplied the officers his correct identity. It was soon revealed the reason for him lying, he has three driver licence suspensions and three outstanding arrest warrants from the Stratford Police Service, the one warrant for the charge of carry concealed weapon. The 21 year old Owen Sound resident was arrested without incident. Upon his arrest he was found to be in possession of a small amount of Methamphetamine and Cannabis Marihuana, both controlled substances under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
The male party has been charged by the Owen Sound Police for having possession of the drugs and turned over to the Stratford Police Service to face several outstanding charges that have been brought before the court by way of warrant.
