Suspended Driver Caught Again – TROUP

(TOWNSHIP OF NORTH WELLINGTON, ON) – On April 8, 2020 at approximately 2:55 p.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a motor vehicle on Main Street in Mount Forest for a number of Highway Traffic Act violations.

Investigation revealed that the driver was contravening three separate driving suspensions and that the vehicle was uninsured and was bearing plates not authorized to be on it.

As a result, Alexander Melvin TROUP, 43-years-old of Southgate Township has been charged with Operation While Prohibited contrary to the Criminal Code, Driving Under Suspension X2, Use Plates Not Authorized For Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and Operate Motor Vehicle – No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Guelph – on July 31, 2020 to answer to the charges.
