STUNT DRIVING CONTINUES

(SOUTH-WEST OXFORD TOWNSHIP, ON.) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), of Oxford County have charged a male with stunt driving.

On August 12, 2014, police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Plank Line in South-West Oxford Township. The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Based on the observations and investigative steps taken by the OPP officer, the driver, a 29 year old male of St. Marys has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Kevin CHAMBERS was charged with Race a motor vehicle under the Highway Traffic Act.

The vehicle has been impounded for the prescribed 7-day period and his driver’s license is suspended for 7 days.

Drivers who engage in high risk driving behavior put everyone at risk. Speeding makes it more difficult for drivers and pedestrians to react to changes, stop suddenly and control a vehicle. In the case of a collision, the higher the speed the more severe the collision and the more likely that serious injuries or death will occur.

OPP would like to remind the motoring public to manage their time and respect all the rules of the road when travelling.
