(Prince Edward County, ON) On January 16, 2015 at 11:18am the Ontario Provincial Police Prince Edward County detachment were called to a Prince Edward County elementary school within the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board in response to an assault.
The police investigation revealed that on January 14, 2015 a school employee had assaulted a student. The student sustained minimal injury.
On January 18, 2015 OPP charged a 49-year old, Picton woman with Assault, contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was served an appearance notice and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on February 4, 2015.
No further details are being released to protect the identity of the victim.
