(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Nottawasaga Detachment, occasionally make pleas to the motoring public, to pay special attention to driving habits. We make this reminder during certain times of the year, such as holiday periods.
These reminders, for the majority of our citizens, have a huge impact, and our roads are safer simply because citizens do their part.
Regrettably, these reminders at times go unheeded. Such was the case on Saturday March 12, 2016 at approximately 2:00 am, when officers patrolling Young Street in Alliston, had occasion to stop a vehicle. Subsequent investigation revealed the driver to be impaired.
Charged with Impaired Driving is, Mathew David STUART, AGE 24, of Clearview Township. He will be making an appearance before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on March 31, 2016.
OPP are appealing to the citizens of our communities to report suspected impaired drivers by contacting our Communications Center at 1-888-310-1122.
