Occurrence #: BA15014482

Date: Thursday, March 26, 2015 – 9:10am

On March 26 Barrie Police were called to a plaza at Dunlop and Anne St regarding a vehicle smashing into other vehicles in the parking lot. A vehicle had pulled into the parking lot and a female, who appeared strung out, went into one of the businesses. She left a short time later and backed onto the median striking another vehicle. The vehicle she was driving became stuck in the mud on the median. The driver began rocking it back and forth in an effort to get unstuck while bystanders attempted to stop her.

The truck became unstuck and slammed into a second vehicle in the parking lot before fleeing. Police located the vehicle a short distance away and the female was arrested for being impaired by drug. During testing back at the station, the female claimed to be pregnant and faked a medical emergency to prevent further drug testing. She was transported to the hospital where it was determined that she was not pregnant and she was cleared medically. Police also learned that the female had taken the vehicle without the owners consent and found a quantity of stolen property in the vehicle . A 26 year old Barrie woman has been charged with driving while impaired by drug, dangerous driving, obstruct police and take auto without consent. The investigation is continuing into the stolen property. The woman faces a future court date.
