Structure Fire Deemed Suspicious

(SOUTHWOLD TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), and the Southwold Township Fire Department, Central Elgin Fire Rescue Services, and the Dutton Dunwich Fire Department, responded to a Lake Line address for a structure fire, on August 10, 2015, at approximately 9:55 p.m.

The structure was a vacant, uninhabitable residence, on a rural property in the 34,000 block of Lake Line.

The residence was fully engulfed by the fire. There were no injuries, and the cost of damage to the structure has yet to be determined.

Members of the Elgin County OPP Crime Unit are on scene, and with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), have commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire, which is deemed suspicious.
