Stranger Danger – Description Released

(HUNTSVILLE, ON) – On Wednesday November 20, 2013, just after 8:30am, near the bus stop on Veterans Way and West Street South in the Town of Huntsville, some school aged children were observed speaking to a male in a pickup truck.

The driver, who is described as being a middle aged male with a mustache and dark hair, was overheard asking the students if they wanted a ride. He was operating what is believed to be a grey Ford pickup truck and he had a small white dog with him.

Police were contacted and immediately attended the area, but the pickup truck was not located.

The Huntsville OPP is hoping to speak to the students that were at the pickup truck speaking the male.

Parents are reminded to speak to their children about being approached by strangers. They should encourage their children to attempt to get a licence plate of the vehicle if they can and to contact the OPP immediately. The OPP’s website, www.opp.ca, contains a number of useful resources, tips and links that parents may find helpful.

Anyone in the area that may have seen this pickup truck or witnessed the students speaking to the male is asked to contact Huntsville OPP at (705)789-5551
