Stormont Dundas Press Releases

(South Dundas) – On June 17, 2016 at approximately 9:10am, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Village of Williamsburg, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that a verbal altercation had taken place between a male and his ex-girlfriend. Officers at scene located and seized a quantity of suspected marihuana from the accused. Further information also revealed that he was in contravention of conditions imposed from previous incidents.

The 37-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts)

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 9, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the female involved.

(South Dundas) – On June 17, 2016 at approximately 8:09pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a property on County Road 4, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between a male and his girlfriend resulted in the female being assaulted. The accused also prevented the female from leaving the area.

The 22-year-old male from South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault – Spousal

– Forcible Confinement

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on June 28, 2016. His identity is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

DRUGS SEIZED

(South Dundas) – On June 18, 2016 at approximately 4:29pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 18, South Dundas Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Kyle SCOTT (29) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 9, 2016.

(North Glengarry) – On June 18, 2016 at approximately 6:25pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 34, North Glengarry Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver, Mathieu ROY (22) of Front Leeds-Landsdowne Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on August 10, 2016.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISIONS

(South Stormont) – On June 17, 2016 at approximately 2:04pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a two (2) motor vehicle collision on County Road 12, South Stormont Township (near railway crossing between County Road 29 and Loyalist Crescent). Investigation indicated that a northbound pick-up, driven by a 62-year-old male crossed over in to the path of a southbound passenger vehicle resulting in a collision thus causing the southbound vehicle to rollover. The pick-up then struck a hydro pole. Three (3) occupants in the southbound vehicle and the lone occupant of the pick-up were taken to hospital with minor to serious (non-life threatening) injuries.

The 62-year-old male driver from South Stormont Township is charged with;

– Careless Driving

(South Glengarry) – On June 18, 2016 at approximately 8:57pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Fraser Road, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a mini-van, driven by a 49-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was southbound when, for reasons under investigation, left the roadway and rolled over. The driver (lone occupant) was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

SD&G OPP officers, assisted by OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) continue the investigation. Alcohol is being considered as a factor.

THEFTS

(North Glengarry) – Overnight (June 16-17, 2016), a homemade flatbed utility trailer, black was removed from a property on Brodie Road, North Glengarry Township.

An investigation continues.

(South Glengarry) – Overnight (June 17-18, 2016), a boat and motor was removed from a property on Loyalist Road, South Glengarry Township. The unit is described as;

– 1998 16’ MPL Hydra Yacht fishing boat with attached 50 Horsepower Evinrude outboard motor
