(North Stormont) – On July 25, 2016 at approximately 9:54am a Highway Safety Division (HSD) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The male driver – Daniel BOUFFARD (28) and female passenger – Alexandra LAUZIERE-BEAUDET (30), both of Rimouski, Quebec were arrested and each charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both were released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 22, 2016.

BREACH OF CONDITIONS

(South Glengarry) – On July 25, 2016 – Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) OPP began an investigation into a report of a male in breach of conditions imposed from previous incidents. On July 26, 2016, at approximately 9:30am, officers attended a residence in the City of Cornwall and arrested the accused. A quantity of suspected marihuana was seized at this time.

Nicholas RIGAKIS (37) of South Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts – alcohol/surety violations)

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (July 26, 2016).

THEFTS

(South Glengarry) – Over the past weekend (22-24Jul16), a push lawnmower and a set of four (4) winter tires and rims were taken from a property on Concession 1, South Glengarry Township. The items were in a carport near a residence.

An investigation continues.

(North Stormont) – Over the past weekend (22-24Jul16), a commercial quarry located on Finch-Roxborough Boundary Road was entered. A gate was forcibly opened to access the property and a quantity of diesel fuel was taken.
