IMPAIRED DRIVER – DRUGS SEIZED

(North Stormont) – On August 24, 2016 at approximately 5:27pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on Highway 138, North Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol. Officers also seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.

Kane HANNA (21) of North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired

– Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

– Possession of a Controlled Substance

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 22, 2016.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Dundas) – On August 23, 2016 – SD&G OPP began an investigation into a report of a domestic situation. Investigation revealed that an adult male had repeatedly communicated with his ex-spouse over a span of a few months.

The 44-year-old from Ottawa, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Harassing Communications

He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on September 20, 2016.

THEFTS

(South Dundas) – Overnight (August 23-24, 2016) a vehicle was forcibly entered (smashed window) while parked at a residence on County Road 31, South Dundas Township. Inside, a laptop computer, GPS, cell phone, tools and a 5th wheel hitch assembly were removed.

An investigation continues.

(South Dundas) – On August 24, 2016 between 6:00am and 7:00pm, unknown culprit(s) entered a home located on County Road 31, South Dundas Township. Inside, assorted guitars (5) (Jackson, Ibanez, Custom, BC Rich Warlock), a Samsung Television and two (2) Play Station Video Game consoles were stolen.

An investigation continues.

EXCESSIVE SPEED

(South Glengarry) – On August 24, 2016 at approximately 8:51pm, an SD&G OPP officer intercepted a vehicle for speeding 168km/h (80km/h zone) on County Road 34, South Glengarry Township.

The 18-year-old male driver from South Glengarry Township is charged with;

– Stunt Driving

His driver’s permit was seized and the vehicle impounded as per policy.
