(South Stormont) – On September 30, 2016 at approximately 12:12pm, a Highway Safety Division (HSD) Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Cornwall Center Road, South Stormont Township. A check of the male driver revealed his driving privileges were disqualified stemming from previous driving related offences.

Andre PAUL (49) of Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Disqualified

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall court on November 8th, 2016.

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On September 30, 2016 at approximately 6:29pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation on Cornwall Center Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that a male was in contravention of previous release conditions from a domestic situation.

The 24-year-old male from South Stormont, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Fail To Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking (2 counts)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

The names of the accused persons in the above incidents are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Dundas) – On September 30, 2016 at approximately 11:06pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle while conducting a RIDE Program on County Road 31, North Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Tyler FOUBERT (28) of South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on October 11, 2016.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Stormont) – On October 1-2, 2016, SD&G OPP officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Stormont Townships and South Dundas Township and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicle(s) were impounded and the driver’s permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– October 1, 2016 –3:48pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 194km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (28) from Montreal, Quebec was charged accordingly.

– October 2, 2016 – 12:02pm (South Stormont); vehicle stopped travelling 156km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (60) from Quebec, Quebec was charged accordingly.

– October 2, 2016 – 5:05pm (South Dundas); vehicle stopped travelling 159km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (18) from North Stormont, Ontario was charged accordingly.

TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN CHARGES

(South Dundas) – On October 1, 2016 at approximately 3:54pm, a SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officer had the occasion to stop a vehicle on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. A check of the male driver revealed his driving privileges were disqualified stemming from previous driving related offences. Also, further Investigation indicated that the male was in contravention of previous release conditions from a domestic situation.

The 30-year-old male from South Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Disqualified

– Fail To Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking (4 counts)

– Drive while under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

The names of the accused persons in the above incidents are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.

DRUGS SEIZED AT TRAFFIC STOP

(North Stormont) – On October 1, 2016 at approximately 7:39pm, a Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on County Road 43, North Stormont Township. The stop resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.

The female driver, Dayna OETELAAR (21) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and charged with;

– Possession of a Controlled Substance (2 counts)

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on November 8th, 2016.
