Stormont Dundas Press Releases

(South Stormont) – On June 16, 2015 at approximately 3:44pm, a Highway Safety Division (HSD) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer intercepted a vehicle on Moulinette Road, South Stormont Township. The stop revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Richard COUSINEAU (61) of South Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Drive Motor Vehicle while Ability Impaired by Alcohol

– Drive Motor Vehicle with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

– Driving While Under Suspension (Highway Traffic Act)

He was held in custody pending an appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall today (17Jun15).

ASSAULT

(South Dundas) – On June 16, 2015 at approximately 1:49pm, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) OPP officers responded to a report of a disturbance at a property on Carraway Crescent, South Dundas Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between two adult females resulted in one assaulting the other. Further information revealed a similar incident had occurred the previous day.

Deborah DUNKLEY (38) of South Dundas Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Assault (2 counts)

She was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on August 4, 2015.

FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION

(South Dundas) – On June 13, 2015 at approximately 4:10pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on County Road 2, South Dundas Township (between Marine Station Road and Galop Lane). Investigation revealed that a vehicle had collided with another and fled the scene prior to police arrival. No injuries resulted.

The vehicle sought is described as; black Mitsubishi Eclipse (2003-2006), winter rims, rear spoiler, tinted rear window and sunroof. Damage should be evident on the driver’s side of the vehicle. The male driver is described as; 30-35yrs, dark hair with scruffy beard, average build and height.

An investigation continues.

THEFT FROM VEHICLES

(South Stormont) – Overnight (June 15-16, 2015), vehicles were entered at residences in the Beaver Glen subdivision in South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that culprit(s) attended properties on Beaver Dam Drive and Poplar Avenue and entered parked vehicles resulting in personal items taken (keys, garage remotes).

Investigations continue.
