(South Glengarry) – On January 12, 2016 at approximately 9:08am, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division (HSD) officer responded to a request for assistance at the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) scales on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a check of a commercial motor vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marihuana.
The male driver, Mohamed Yusuf MOHAMED (34) of Richmond Hill, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;
– Possession of a Controlled Substance – Under 30 Grams
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on March 2, 2016.
DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION
(South Stormont) – On January 12, 2016 at approximately 6:58pm, Stormont Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence in the Village of Long Sault, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his spouse resulted in the male damaging property within the home.
The 22-year-old from North Stormont Township was arrested and is charged with;
– Mischief Under $5000
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on February 9, 2016. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
