Stormont, Dundas And Glengarry OPP Press Release

(South Glengarry) – On March 9, 2017 at approximately 10:24pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a report of a vehicle being driven erratically on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township. The vehicle was intercepted and the male driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Further information revealed that his driving privileges were disqualified from a previous incident.

Vinayagalingam ABEYALINGAM (35) of Laval, Quebec was arrested and is charged with;

– Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired

– Driving a Motor Vehicle with More Than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood

– Driving While Disqualified

– Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance (4 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

FRAUDS

(Dundas) – On March 9, 2017 at approximately 10:58am, SD&G OPP and Crime Unit officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at business properties in the Villages of Iroquois and Winchester. Investigation indicated that two (2) males had used a variety of false identification in order to obtain goods. Both males were intercepted and arrested.

Ntumba NGALULA (52) of Montreal, Quebec is charged with;

– Possession of an Identity Document (7 counts)

– Fraud Under $5000 (3 counts)

Selmentou PIERRE-LOUIS (37) of Longueil, Quebec is charged with;

– Fraud Under $5000

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (2 counts)

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance (2 counts)

Both were held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

UTTER THREAT

(North Glengarry) – On March 9, 2017 at approximately 9:01am, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a threat incident at a property on Main Street in the Town of Alexandria, North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that a male youth had threatened an adult female.

The 15-year-old male from North Glengarry Township was arrested and is charged with;

– Utter Threats

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on April 20, 2017. His name is being withheld in accordance to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

DOMESTIC INVESTIGATION

(South Stormont) – On March 9, 2017 at approximately 4:41pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on Headline Road, South Stormont Township. Investigation indicated that an adult male had been repeatedly following his ex-spouse, therefore in contravention of a condition imposed from a previous incident.

The 71-year-old male from Cornwall, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

– Criminal Harassment

– Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He was held in custody pending a court appearance (bail) at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
