Stormont, Dundas And Glengarry OPP Press Release

(North Glengarry)- On March 17, 2017 at approximately 12:34 pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic situation at a residence on County Road 24 in North Glengarry Township. Investigation indicated that an altercation between an adult male and his ex-girlfriend had occurred. Further information revealed that the male was in contravention of release conditions from a previous incident.

An adult male (22) from Rockland, Ontario was arrested and is charged with;

Fail To Comply With a Probation Order (6 counts)

The Male was held in custody (Bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. The names of the accused persons are being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(South Dundas) – On March 17, 2017 at approximately 10:02 pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle on County Road 2, South Dundas Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Cole MERKLEY (20) of North Dundas, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on March 28th, 2017.

IMPAIRED DRIVER

(North Glengarry) – On March 19, 2017 at approximately 3:27 pm, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry (SD&G) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers intercepted a vehicle (Skid-Steer construction vehicle) on McCormick Road, North Glengarry Township. The investigation revealed that the adult male driver was under the influence of alcohol. Further information revealed that the male had caused damage to the roadway with his vehicle.

Andrew VALLIERES (52) of North Glengarry, Ontario was arrested and is charged with:

– Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood

– Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired

– Mischief – Under $5000

The Male was held in custody (Bail) and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDS

(South Stormont) – On March 18-19, 2017, SD&G Ontario Provincial Police officers conducted speed measuring enforcement on Highway 401, South Stormont and South Dundas Townships and intercepted the following vehicles for traveling at excessive speeds. The vehicles were impounded and the drivers’ permits seized for seven (7) days in accordance to policy.

– March 18, 2017 – 9:42am (South Dundas): vehicle stopped travelling 160km/h (100km/h zone). Male driver (39) from Kingston, Ontario was charged accordingly.

-March 19, 2017 – 3:55pm (South Stormont): vehicle stopped travelling 155km/h (100km/h zone). Female (22) from Montreal, Quebec was charged accordingly.
