(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – A 33 year old wanted by Waterloo Regional Police Service for outstanding criminal charges is now in police custody following an early morning arrest made by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Yesterday afternoon Huron OPP received information that a wanted male may be at a residence located on Belfast Road near Kerry’s Line. Huron OPP attended the property and spoke with two residents. Police learned the wanted male have had access to firearms so containment of the property was initiated while additional specialized units responded. West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) members along with an OPP Canine team attended the scene to assist Huron OPP with the search.
A search of the residence was conducted early this morning which resulted in officers locating the wanted male in the basement of the residence. He was arrested without incident just after 3:00 a.m..
Police also searched a barn on the property and located a stolen Subaru Impreza. In addition, police also seized a .22 calibre rifle and a 12 gauge shotgun.
The wanted male, 33 year old Michal MIODUSZEWSKI from Waterloo has been turned over to the custody of Waterloo Regional Police. He faces outstanding charges for Breach of Probation – 2 counts, Theft Under $5,000 and Assault.
