(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 12, 2015, just before 3:00 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a Toyota Matrix on Highway 40 near Pioneer Line, for a traffic violation.
Subsequent OPP investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from a Chatham address. Further investigation also revealed that the female passenger was in breach of her conditions.
As a result, the driver, 32 year old Clinton BAYLIS, from Chatham, has been charged with the following:
Theft Of Motor Vehicle, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Drive Without Proper Headlights, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Drive No Licence, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
A passenger in the vehicle, 26 year old Andrea CAMPBELL, from Wallaceburg, has been charged with Fail To Comply With Recognizance, under the Criminal Code of Canada
Both appeared in a Chatham court on March 12, 2015, to answer to the charges.
