Thanks to all the media outlets for publishing the stolen vehicle. It has been located near Springmount on Grey Road 18. The vehicle is being held for examination by the Identifications Unit. At this time the suspects have not been identified. The Owen Sound Police and the Ontario Provincial Police continue with their investigation.
Stolen vehicle over night then used in break and enter
Sometime over the night from August 11th – August 12th, 2015 a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 was stolen from a parking lot in the area of 3rd Avenue and 12th Street East, Owen Sound. The vehicle is described as being white in colour, crew cab with short box, tinted windows and a black fifth wheel attachment in the rear box. The licence plate that was on the vehicle at the time it was stolen was a personalized plate “WAGZ20”.
It appears that after this vehicle was stolen the occupants were involved in a break and enter into a business located in Georgian Bluffs just outside of the city limits. It is believed that occupants then used this stolen vehicle to flee the area. The Ontario Provincial Police and the Owen Sound Police are actively working together investigating these two incidents.
