Stolen Vehicle Involved In Collision – Charges Laid

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged two persons with stolen vehicle possession after investigating a collision at an Argyle St., Caledonia, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Friday January 22nd, 2016 at approximately 3:10 pm Emergency Services were called to a two vehicle personal injury collision at the intersection of Braemar Av and Argyle St.

Investigation has revealed that a white 2015 Jeep which was found to have been stolen was travelling northbound on Arygle St when it struck a beige 2003 GMC SUV. The driver of the GMC SUV identified as 18 year old Austin Pont of Haldimand County, ON sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by Haldimand County Paramedics for treatment.

The driver of the white Jeep identified as 29 year old Lindsay CRAWFORD of Brantford, ON and her passenger identified as 26 year old Richard BOMBERRY of Six Nation of the Grand River Territory First Nation sustained minor injuries and attempted to flee the scene on foot. They were apprehended by witnesses on scene and turned over to the Police.

Prior to the collision the white Jeep had failed to stop for Police, was involved in minor collisions and fled the area which then resulted in the collision.

Charged with Flight from Police, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 dollars, 3 Counts of Fail to Stop at Scene of Collision, Possession of Break In Instruments, and Fail to comply with Court Orders is 29 year old Lindsay CRAWFORD of Brantford, ON. Also charged with 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5000 dollars, 3 Counts of Fail to Stop at Scene of Collision, Possession of Break In Instruments, and Fail to comply with Court Orders is 26 year old Richard BOMBERRY of Six Nation of the Grand River Territory First Nation.

They are to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.
