(Ottawa) Two men were arrested by Ottawa Police early this morning during a stolen vehicle investigation in the South end of Ottawa. A single shot was fired by a police officer during the incident.
At approximately 12:10 am, Ottawa Police officers identified a previously-reported stolen vehicle at the intersection of Bank Street and Walkley Road.
The officers proceeded to attempt to apprehend the two male suspects inside the vehicle. As an officer approached the front of the vehicle and ordered the driver to turn the ignition off, the vehicle advanced towards him and a shot was fired.
A short vehicle pursuit ensued, ending with a foot pursuit assisted by K9 that resulted in the arrest of the two male suspects.
The investigation into the incident continues.
No injuries were reported from the shot.
As with any incident during which an officer discharges a firearm a Professional Standards Section review being conducted.
