Stolen Sea-Doos Recovered In Brussels – Second Person Charged

(MONKTON, ON) – A joint investigation involving members of the Perth County and Huron County detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has led to the arrest of a second person. The investigation involved the theft of 2 Sea-Doo model personal watercrafts and a trailer from a rural residence on Road 168, near Monkton. The theft occurred sometime on May 11, 2019.

The 2 Sea-Doo’s and the trailer were recovered later the same day near Brussels when a proposed buyer became suspicious and reported the transaction to Police.

On May 13, 2019, Karen ALBRECHT, 33-years-old, of Huron East was arrested and charged with;

Trafficking in property obtained by crime

Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Fail to Comply with Probation Order

On May 18, 2019, Thomas BARRY, 37-years-old, of Huron East was arrested and charged with;

Trafficking in property obtained by crime

Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000

Both persons are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Goderich on June 24, 2019 to answer the charges.

The 2 Sea-Doo’s and the trailer have been returned to their owner.
